August Lunch with Professor Peter Sherlock - 4th August 2023
The guest speaker for our August lunch on Friday 4th August is Professor Peter Sherlock.
The title of Peter’s presentation is: For the Common Good? Thinking Theologically about the University of Divinity and Australian Higher Education
Lunch is at the Kelvin Club (www.kelvinclub.com) where we shall meet from 12-30 pm onwards. A two course meal, including a glass of wine, is at 1 pm and the formal part of the proceedings will conclude around 2-15 pm.

Professor Peter Sherlock is the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Divinity, a role he has held since 2012 when he was appointed as the inaugural Vice-Chancellor. He held a Commonwealth Scholarship at Corpus Christi College, Oxford, from 1997 to 2000, where he completed his DPhil in Modern History, the thesis later published as Monuments and Memory in Early Modern England (2008). He is President of the Australian and New Zealand Association for Theological Studies, and Chair of the Council of Deans of Theology, the peak body for theological education in Australia. Professor Sherlock is completing two books, one on the impact of theological education in the lives and careers of prominent Australians, and the other on the monuments of Westminster Abbey.
