Dr Melinda Christophersen from Asahi Beverages will talk about beer making

OUSV members and guests, and the Royal Australian Chemical Institute (RACI) members are in for a real treat from 6-00 pm on October 4th at the Kelvin Club (www.kelvinclub.com) when our guest presenter, Dr Melinda Christophersen, will talk about the brewing process, styles and types of beer, and best of all, will provide a range of samples for everyone to try, courtesy Asahi Beverages.

The cost includes a range of canapés to help absorb the alcohol. Other beverages will be available to purchase from the KC bar during the course of the evening.

Dr Christophersen, who has a First-Class Honours degree and PhD in Analytical Chemistry from Latrobe University, has spent over 15 years in the brewing and beverage industry. She currently heads up Asahi Beverages Analytical Services Group. She has held a number of office bearer positions in the Pink Boots Society Australia and is Victorian Regional Co-ordinator of the Institute of Brewing and Distilling.

The cost is $30 pp for OUSV members and their guests, and Royal Australian Chemical Institute (RACI) members, and $45 for non-members, which includes canapés, tea and coffee, and beer samples. Other drinks at bar prices.
