    From Oxford to Australia

OUSV Intimate Wine Tasting Thursday 22 May 2025 with expert Andy McIntyre, founder of Melbourne Wine School (MWS)

Journeying through some of the major wine regions between Oxford and Australia, this event is intended to cater for those who are new to wine tasting, and want to learn more, as well as those who want to try some interesting quality wines. Attendees will be able to compare Old and New World wines, starting with English sparkling before travelling through Europe and South Africa to Australia.

Andy is an enthusiastic and entertaining wine educator, having founded Melbourne Wine School (MWS) several years ago after working in the wine industry in the UK and Australia. His passion for wine ignited when working for Corney & Barrow in London. From there he moved to one of the longest standing wine companies on the high street – Oddbins.  Finally he found a home at a small fine wine merchant called Philglas & Swiggot. It was here he worked with fellow Australian & Master of Wine - Justin Knock MW and gained the highly valued WSET Diploma. Now back in Melbourne, Andy is currently a student on the internationally renowned, and fiendishly difficult Master of Wine program while sharing his passion and love of wine with those keen to learn more.

MWS is a small, Melbourne-based wine education and consulting business. MWS offers a selection of WSET certified courses and tastings that aim to help both novices and industry veterans expand their wine knowledge.

The wine tasting will take place at the MWS premises, opposite Richmond Station, Level 1/41-43 Stewart Street, Richmond VIC 3121 from 6.30 - 8.30pm. The cost is $80 per person. Cheese and nibbles will be provided. Numbers are strictly limited to 12, so please book early.
